Well, well, well… Guess who is back!
After a (beyond) long time with no updates and, as of late, lots of thinking I have reached the conclusion that I miss having a place to journal and record what is happening in my life.
Without adding too much pressure on myself I have decided to once again pick up my blogging and during 2018 I aim to update this space weekly by sharing feelings, thoughts and experiences. Your support in reading and leaving little comments will be greatly appreciated.
I figured, what better way than to end the year with a bang and deliver a ‘2017 – The Year in Review’ to get you guys up to speed with what my past 12 months have involved.
Are you ready?
2017 – The Year in Review
2017 was kicked off in good company at Rococo. We danced and laughed to the tunes of saxophones, bongo drums and electric beats and watched the sky light up from afar.
In the week to follow the above pictures where taken in the first creative collaboration of the year. Working with photographer Steve Wall and make up artist Amelia Livingstone we captured the soft light of the sun rising over Noosa Main Beach.
January 2017 was the month when we finally got a home. After several months of hopping from one holiday unit to the next (long story short – our previous rental sold and we offered to move out before our lease expired, little did we know the struggles we’d have finding a new one) we finally found ‘our place’.
Needless to say this was the highlight of January, having spent on average 6 weeks in a unit before moving to the next and constantly keeping our lives packed down in bags for the past 5 months.
The second month of the year arrived and with it some much needed family time down in Melbourne.
Days were spent roaming the streets of Fitzroy and playing in the park with baby Sienna and my Australian sister Madeleine.
Whilst in Victoria I caught up with Gabrielle Stephens from Collecting Pretty Boys and with the help of the most talented team of professionals I got to channel my inner Viking/Game of Thrones Goddess. The full-length video was submitted to Berlin Fashion Film Festival. Below is a snippet:
Only days after returning from Melbourne, I found myself on a mini-vacay again. This time to Byron Bay for a girls weekend/Laura’s hens.
The ladies had hired out an amazing abode with ocean and hinterland views, an infinity pool and indoor elevator. To top it off they had decked it out in tropical colors and were serving up platters from heaven!
Returning back to Noosa Valentine’s Day arrived and I decked our little home out in all shades of pink and red. I, of course, also kept the tradition alive and created my annual ‘Valentines Card’:
In the final part of the first quarter of the year my beloved bestest friend from Sweden finally made it down under.
Needless to say we spent the days laughing, giggling and laughing. We ate Ben and Jerry’s, watched the world go by from a cliff face or two, roamed the streets of Sydney and… you guessed it… laughed a little more!
Along came April and with it a couple of Photoshoot’s. Below are some of my favorite shots, from what may very well be my favorite session of 2017. Featuring my beloved better half and captured by Gavin James in a creative collaboration from heaven.
To wrap up April, and mark my 4th year anniversary in Australia, I participated in the Miss World Australia Preliminary Queensland finals and was selected to represent Queensland at the state finals.
May is always a big month in our household – with both of our birthdays and quite a few additional birthdays within Richards family.
For Richards birthday I surprised him with a jump from the sky and an all-vegan breakfast. He definitely loved the skydive but the fact that we have not been back to the restaurant for a second meal probably says it all…
May also included some camera-time and I was lucky enough to be featured in local band Sunrise Beach’s latest music video. Below is a snippet and I definitely suggest you give the brothers a follow on Instagram (@sunrisebeachh) if you like their music as much as I do!
Little bits of motion from a super exciting collaboration 🎥 There's this band of three amazingly talented brothers called @sunrisebeachmusic (I suggest you check them out!), whom I was lucky enough to make friends with when I first arrived down under four years ago… I've got so many memories hanging out in their studio during band practices and their music has definitely become the soundtrack to many of my wonderful memories. So, clearly, when they asked if I'd be up for shooting some material to one of their songs (which happens to be one of my favorites) the answer was YES!!! I present to you, Sunrise Beach – Love By Design (Demo) – I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do!
In June I hosted a charity event to raise funds for Variety the children’s foundation, on behalf of Miss World Australia. I invited 30 beautiful and strong women to a yoga retreat at Aloha Studios and we spent the day together, sweating and laughing! A massive thank you to owner Manyia Vale and also to Nosh Salads in Noosa for helping make the event a success.
The month of June invited further opportunities to capture magical moments in front of the camera. These are some of my faves, snapped by Shirlz from Swirltography and Rod Moore.
I participated in the Queensland state finals for Miss World Australia, but did not quite make it to the national finals. It was however a wonderful experience, raising funds for a great cause and meeting strong, smart and beautiful women who also participated.
In July we had an extremely special visitor in the form of my mum! After not having seen each other for over a year one can definitely rest assured that we made the most of every second with visits to the zoo, hotel vacations, a Byron Bay trip, loaded hot chocolates, happy hours and just lots and lots of mum-and-daughter (and Richard) time.
The last photos were captured by Shirlz from Swirltography, whom were forever grateful to! Thank you Shirlz, for giving us these beautiful memories.
Waving goodbye after 3+ wonderful weeks together was devastating and to be quite honest, I’ve been feeling pretty homesick ever since.
However, Finishing off the month of July on a high note we celebrated the Noosa Food and Wine festival down on main beach, dancing barefoot in the sand under the sun and later at night also the stars.
August was a quieter month with less events on the calendar. We did however get to see the results from a previous job we had done for The Ridge in Maleny.
Anyone looking for investment properties I highly recommend you contact Magnus, these freestanding houses are incredible and so cosy with amazing hinterland views!

In September I did two wonderful trips down to Brisbane. The first one to work with super-talent Lorna Evans Hair where we produced the below look and image:
The second Brisbane trip to celebrate my dear friend Melissa, who turned 30 and threw a great cocktail party.
The tenth month of the year always spell Max’s birthday month and for his 25th he decided to come celebrate it down under with us.
We went to Sydney and Canberra and spent the rest of our days soaking up the sun and eating tons of Dominos pizza.
One of my favorite events in November is definitely Melbourne Cup! It is always a great day out, getting dressed up and spending time with a group of friends. This years celebrations were held at Rococo, just like the year before
After getting super inspired hanging out with Max (and his incredible camera) for a month I decided it was time for me to get my own one and invested in a little Olympus Om-D 10, which I immediately took on holidays.
Richard and I spent a few days down Gold Coast being kids again, visiting all the fun parks and eating yummy food in the evenings.
The final month of the year started with a baby shower for the beautiful Tiffany, who is expecting her first bubba in early 2018.
Just like all other months of December there was then an array of Christmas shopping, decorating and shopping to follow.
One of the celebratory highlights was definitely our staff party, which was held at Aussie World. We all got to be kids for a few hours and I’m pretty sure I took the prize being the biggest child when I won a unicorn! I was also lucky enough to be awarded ‘Employee of the year’ which is a great honor. Thank you!
For our own Christmas celebrations we cooked up a huge feast, had a private little pool-party and just relaxed.
And that, my friends, pretty much sums up my 2017 – a year filled with highs and lows. I’m forever grateful for all the wonderful visits I have had from overseas, all though I must admit it’s definitely caused some serious homesickness too.
I now look forward to taking some time journaling on the lessons the year has brought and setting my intentions for the year to come. If you’re lucky I might just share some of it with you later…
Thank you a million times for taking precious time out of your days to share this little review of mine. Now, if you’re in Sweden I hope you’re heading out for some wonderful celebrations and if you’re down under I hope you’re headed out to embrace 2018!
I will see you on the other side. Have yourselves a very Happy and Safe New Year!
